ITT Corp. began a relationship with Sign Management Consultants in 1999. ITT was in the process of developing a new corporate identity program to help set its image apart from the other ITT companies. Sign Management Consultants implemented the new brand to 200+ facilities around the world.

After the conversion, Sign Management Consultants took the role of a single source contact for all of its facilities signage needs. ITT gains the benefit of having their brand standards consistently applied and their brand investment is being protected.

With a history of growth, Comcast planned a substantial acquisition of AT&T Broadband. To brand these 600+ nationwide locations, Comcast came to Sign Management Consultants.

SMC used detailed documentation and a strong management system to coordinate the implementation and completion of this project. Many suppliers were selected out of a competitive bidding process and managed to get a consistent sign product in place across the country.

Prior to Sign Management Consultants involvement, Comcast had internally handled sign conversions. A documented history of these conversions made for a good comparison of SMC's value. A post project analysis found that the total per site conversion cost including management fees was 15% cheaper than if Comcast had handled the conversion themselves.

In June of 2007 a very large and diverse Tyco International decided to spin off its electronics and healthcare businesses. The healthcare portion, which consisted of many sub-brands, became Covidien. Covidien instantly was a world leader in the healthcare products industry.

Covidien's sub-brands were the result of years of Tyco International acquisitions. With more than 50 different brands and company names, Covidien took advantage of the opportunity to unite their brands under one strong name.

As part of a large marketing and identity effort, Sign Management Consultants worked with Covidien from the beginning, assisting with signage development, surveys, and brand implementation.

Sign Management Consultants currently is managing the worldwide signage implementation process for Covidien in 59 countries.
